Matbolabc's Speech

I still find it hard to believe that this entire community started only 2 and a half years ago... I almost feel like I've known you guys all my life... Maybe it's because I couldn't picture living my life without having met all of you. For the past few years I have always had a place to go where I could just be me... a place where I can stay away from the harsh and judgmental world. A place where I felt like I mattered.

This community has given me so much confidence in myself and I now understand that there are people out there who love me. Because of this boost of confidence I have grown out of my shell in my real life, and I have met many great people and befriended new people... I feel like I am ready to go out and find my place in the world.

Of course, we would not be a community if it weren't for the gameshow aspect of CPSkool. CPSkool was a fun ordeal that brought each and everyone of us closer together, and gave us such an amount of joy and hope in ourselves... even though it seems like a simple concept, the only person who would truly understand would have to compete in one.

I think it says a lot for CPSkool, having started out as very young teenagers without an ounce of experience. Because of this we were an easy target for an orange adversary who fails to see that a gameshow is not about its host... but about the contestants. But that is an old story that nobody wants to hear again, because at the end of the day hope is what kept this place alive. Hope is what fueled myself into each and every hour that I've spent on CPSkool Forever, the previous 4 seasons, and the chat. Life without hope is pointless.

Of course all great things have to come to an end... but I know CPSkool is greater than that. Those who were directly involved in CPSkool and those who have participated will never forget CPSkool... And for me I will always keep the memories I've spent here close to my heart.

The connection did not come from flashy graphics, overly-complex posts, or from a massive ego from either of the hosts. The reason everyone here today still remains is because through the best and worst of CPSkool we have all pushed forward and have grown into a family. I honestly consider a vast majority of people on our chat room as family, and I know some of them feel the same way towards me.

In summary, I think that the bond each and everyone of us feel is very real. Some might say that online friendships are not real... But what about online friendships that have lasted years, ones that have reached closer to real life through Facebook, Skype, and Tinychat.... In the end what defines friendship in my mind is love for one another... always being there for each other... and understanding each other.... therefore the friendships that CPSkool has made are very real, and the love all of us share will continue to grow past the boundaries of Club Penguin and into our hearts.

Penguin874's Speech

I remember all the way back to those first few days of the development of this recently ended season. Our main goal was to take our experiences from the previous four adventures, improve on them, take into account what works for the people around chat, and make it all happen. However, there was something else that I think made this season the definite best out of all our seasons. Heck, CPSkool Forever alone could stand as its own gameshow, even if it were just this. Why is that?

All season long, we intended on staying away from Club Penguin challenges (except for the first and last ones). This season took into account the possibility of a gameshow that takes advantage of actually using Internet games other than our ol' CP. We played Snakeban, Pandanda, trivia (although, I think trivia is in pretty much everything). In the end, I believe my personal expectations were blown out of proportions this time around, and I think that a large chunk of the congratulations should be handed out to the community (yes, I mean you as well).

CPSkool has really evolved as a website, which is a very obvious statement, but it's true. I've spent a lot of time pondering at how fast we've grown, how close we've grown, and how our abilities and talents have grown and have been put into this amazing task of hosting a fifth season. I'm extremely grateful for Happywagon's retirement, not in a negative fashion, but in an indirect thank you sort of fashion. Happy was a great guy who hosted the chat where all of the owners of CPSkool met. Right around the time he decided to let go of CP (which is what we're doing at the moment), it basically gave CPSkool a chance to build up traffic on its chat. Unlike Frosty's rants about how a chat isn't necessary for a gameshow, I think it's vital.

Once we were able to grow as a community, and we were starting to give off a reputation of a stable website, it allowed us to build stronger relationships and experiences with the group of people who chose our site as a hangout, a safe haven from personal problems, a way to forget hard times and have a laugh or two. This was all the way back in 2009-2010. In 2010, as I hope all of you know, is when we ended Season 4 and I disagreed with the idea of continuing on.

Looking back at this decision, I'm amazed at how extraordinarily beneficial it was. Back in 2010, Mat's graphical skills were great, but comparing them to today's style is like comparing cave paintings to a work from da Vinci. I was completely terrible at writing back around the time of season 4, and I think I could still use a lot more work to this day. Because we "waited" a year (I use quotes because we weren't planning on a season 5 until about a year after the "final" season), our skills progressed. We became more mature. We were different people, a lot more experienced and older. So, at that point, it seemed like we were at a peak, which was a perfect signal to have yet another season...and then, here we are.

Ok, I guess I will stop with the pondering of my past, especially since most of you already knew about this. I just...can't believe we managed to pull it off. We used non-Club Penguin websites to make a season worth remembering, and with a non-Club Penguin related chat room, I think we're finally reaching that final step...moving on from these fine experiences.

Like in the finale results post, I'd like to thank everyone who has made your impact on our community. I won't name a list because it would take a couple years to write down everyone who fits the criteria. However, I would like to specifically thank our active mods: Alexa, Andreia, Andy, Lewis, Spoil, Andre, Bumble (our winner of season 5), Checkers (our winner of season 3), and Penny. You have all earned your spots, and I hope to see you on chat now that we've officially transformed.

As for the owners, I'd like to thank GK for his help in the efforts for the development of the season, as he was a big influence on the challenges and what worked when it came to tickets and surprises. I'd like to thank Sand for her amazing artwork and coding skills shown in her Souvenir Shop. Sadly, it is down at the moment for some strange reason, but I'm sure you all remember the impression it gave you when you first saw it. Kellie, you have been an amazing help not only in the season, but with your work on chat. You didn't directly take part in the development of the season, but you've been a great friend and you've done your part in making this happen with your advice and belief in the project.

As for Mat, he already knows what I think. His graphics are beyond outstanding at this point, his diplomacy on chat is something I couldn't handle, and his tears, sweat, and blood have all been poured in buckets into this season happening (hopefully not literally). At the most stressful of moments, he didn't give up, which definitely, without a doubt, shows his perseverance and determination. Without his help, this would be possible, but it would not be 3,000,000 times as great as it has gone. Thanks for your time, Mat, and happy belated birthday.

And, for everyone, I'd like to wish you all luck in your future endeavors, and I would only hope that you take a second or two to fully realize what we have accomplished here in only about two years. I can't believe that I am writing this while taking part in the transformation I've been awaiting for a long while: a transformation into a teenage hangout, what CPSkool has basically become, gameshow or no gameshow, and I hope it continues to grow as a family over the course of the next couple centuries or so.

Maybe even more.

Thanks for your participation in...

S5C9 - Poetry Slam

(Quick Note: I've decided to start having weekly polls about random things. Be sure to give us your opinion!)

Valentine's Day love filled the air as the contestants woke up and made their way down to the cafeteria to get some breakfast. There were seven of them left, so they wanted their time together to last longer.

Every week from now on was like a week for them to get to know each other more, to realize who they want to take with them farther, and who smelled like crap in the morning, whom they all agreed was all of them, even with fancy perfumes.

At the cafeteria, Penguin874 was on the stage, going over some paperwork with Mat. He looked over and saw everyone walk in, and he waddled over as fast as he could.

"Hey, everybody! This week, we're going to have all of you read your stories and poems as if we're having a poetry slam. But, first, let's have you guys get some lunch. Plus, if you want to dress like a hipster, I'll leave time for that afterwards."

Everyone smiled at each other, and once they nodded, they rushed to the front of the line. Today's menu consisted of Andre's Mom's hair lasagna and macaroni without the cheese. It was something they couldn't afford to miss.

------------------

Hey, everybody! This week, the post is mainly just the story and the results. Usually when we have a post that has the results of stories and poems, we just paste the whole thing into the post.

This time, we decided to change things up.

I've spent the last four days working on a website that has all seven stories/poems on it. In every story and poem, there is a book with a unique cover. Inside, there are pictures that match the story you are reading!

In order to stop skimmers from being successful, I will put the results of the challenge on the front page of the link you can check out here. Click on the "RESULTS" button to obviously see the results.

For the people who skim to the bottom of the site instead of reading the post, here's a picture of someone who did not win:

I'll be sure to watch chat to see who says "OMG DRAKE WON" or something like that when the post is released. (Just a test, I won't be doing this every week).

After you're done viewing the results, please send your vote. Remember, you can only vote for whoever did not win.

Sorry for the wordy post, but I think the story site makes up for it.

The elimination post will be out MONDAY, because Mat cannot be on until that day. I will publish the Monday post on Tuesday.

S5C8 - Sleeping in the Rainforest

QUICK NOTE BEFORE THE STORY: Spoil, Drake, Powder, and Lew are currently at 2 strikes. They are at a really high risk of being kicked out if they continue to miss challenges.

The dew of the jungle grass glistened against the ancient trees of the rainforest. Heat from the sun above Africa burned against the canopy level. Parrots squawked, monkeys screeched, and Bumble was screaming about how an ape pooped on her. It was the average state of nature.

The scream of the penguin awoke the rest of the contestants. Questions like "Where are we?", "Where's the cruise ship?", and "I look terrible in the morning, where's my makeup?" spread in the air like the other brainless noises the animals let out.

Penguin874 stretched his flippers and looked over the scene. "Mat, did you plan on this happening?" He looked over to his left and saw Mat wrestling with a garner snake. Peng face palmed and decided to explore what was going on.

"Hey, everybody! Welcome to challenge 8 of this season...glad to see you here! You'll probably want to take a really long shower after this, but for now, we need to figure out a way back to the cruise ship. I don't think we're having a hangover, considering we can't drink...so I'm pretty much stumped on how we got here."

Everyone looked at each other, and they went on their way to a beach along the rocky coast. "Why is there 10 flat stones on top of that hill?"

Suddenly, a mysterious voice was heard from a distance.

"Hello, students of the eternity school."

"It's actually CPSkool Forever," Andy smirked.

The figure stepped across the beach. "Have you just back-talked to Master Wu Lee...?" He looked around at everybody. He sniffed their heads, and even took lice out of some of theirs.

Mat stepped forward to represent the people who were wondering what was going on. "I'm probably not the only person wondering what's going on."

Wu Lee stared Mat in the face, and then started discussing their predicament.

"I've heard that you were going to be playing Codeban this week in Africa. I knew I had to stop this madness."

Everyone glared at Peng, and then looked back at the Master. "Over the night, I dragged each and every one of you out here."

"Where's Lew and Powder?" Spoil shouted out.

"Oh...I guess I forgot some of them...well, that's contrary from the point. Here, I will record the challenge this week. I have set up a little game for all of you."

Wu Lee set everyone up on the hill with the flat stones on them, and he quickly explained the rules.

Wii ended up winning the first time around, and because of technical difficulties and ties, Spoil won the second official game. Drake won the third time around, while Andy won the fourth time.

It seemed like the challenge was going on for a long time, considering all the millions of ties. Suddenly, an ugly penguin waddled out of a bush, smirking at the contestants. He had his flippers behind his back, and a suit on.

"Who are you?" Andre asked with a worried look on his face.

"Remember me? You kicked me out on the first week."

"OWL!" Logan screamed at the top of his lungs.

Everyone looked at Logan, wondering where he came from. They threw him out into the ocean to make him go away. He drifted away, shaking a fist of revenge.

Owl coughed to get everyone's attention. "Let's have a game. Mr. Wu Lee, if you don't choose my pose for the rest of the games, I'll give you a couple thousand dollars. Just something I've whipped up over the years."

Wu Lee stared at him, unsure what to do. "Let's just play the game."

Everyone got together on the stones and chose their spots. Would Master Wu Lee corrupt himself for Owl? They were about to find out.

After the normal start up where a couple people would get out, everybody but Wii and Owl got out.

"Wii should automatically win!" Drake yelled out.

"I think we should just let it play out." Spoil replied, and it seemed to be the popular choice of the matter.

Wii and Owl stared at each other; Owl looked confident, and Wii was completely unsure. If he made one wrong move, they probably wouldn't get this close again. He closed his eyes, and he chose a pose.

Owl stared at Wu Lee with extreme anger. "HOW COULD YOU PASS UP THE CHANCE AT BIG MONEY, YOU SENSEI RIPOFF?"

Wu Lee glared at Owl and whistled. Suddenly, about forty bees went flying at Owl. He screamed like a little girl and ran for his life into the forest.

"Now, back to the situation at hand." Wu Lee smiled. "Great job, all of you. Wii, lead them along the west side of the coast. The cruise ship is very nearby."

Everybody hugged and shook flippers and hands with the Master, and then started on their way back. They knew an elimination was awaiting them.

---------------------

TL;DR:

Wii has earned himself 5 tickets, while Spoil, Andy, and Drake have earned themselves 2 tickets.

Bumble and Andre get 1 ticket for participating but not winning a round.

Powder gets a strike for not showing up, while Lew used his Week Off Pass.

Contestants, just like last week, you have to vote for someone besides Wii. If you do not vote, you will get a vote against you.

Thanks for coming to the challenge, contestants, and I'll see you on Monday!

Elimination Ceremony 6

From now on if a contestant does not cast their vote before 7 P.M. on Sunday they will get one vote cast against them. It is unfair to the other contestants and even more unfair to the person who gets eliminated.
And in case there was any confusion, the challenge winner votes as well.

"Okay guys, you need to be back on board in 3 hours! Enjoy!!" Mat said enthusiastically to his 9 contestants. This was immediately followed by cheers and the sound of feet scampering down the wooden ramp. He and Peng, like always, stayed on board and prepared for the night's elimination ceremony.

Due to their late arrival, the contestants only had a few hours to spend in the Soviet Union. The portion of their day was spent in the Space Race Museum!

The contestants outside of The Space Race Museum.

Wii viewing a picture of that memorable day.

___________________________________

"Welcome everyone to the first post-merge elimination of the season." Peng said to the 9 faces in front of him. For the first time every contestant was in the stands; the only people viewing the ceremony from the poolside was Sand Flipper and Guitarking97.

"You guys know the drill, but this time I want to give each of you a moment to reflect on your performance this week and so far this season." Peng stated.

There was a pause that lasted about 45 second. The atmosphere that surrounded the 9 players and the 4 hosts was so anxious that it could chill you to the bone. This was clearly to set the nerves for the contestants.

"Okay guys, as I call your names one by one, you will be able to breathe a bit easier. Wii as the challenge winner, is obviously safe from elimination." Wii smiled as Lewis patted him on the back with his flipper. The pair were both very successful in the previous challenge.

"Bumble, you are safe too, along with Andy." They gave very pleasant smiles as Peng said "Andre, Spoil, and... Powder. You guys are all safe too!" You could see the strain immediately leave the trio's faces. It is very hard to explain the stress and anxiety experienced in a gameshow when you are not immune... the only way for someone to understand would be for them to endure it themselves.

"Lewis... Lion... Drake. The 3 of you all got at least 1 vote." Lion broke out in a sweat and her lower beak quivered. Drake gave a very nerve-wracking shudder because, again, he was voted for. Lewis crossed his arms and rolled his eyes.... and then his name was called. "Lewis you are safe."

"Drake and Lion... one of you will be the first person eliminated from the season after the merge, and the other person will stay in the competition and compete again in the future of this season." Peng looked to Mat, Mat looked to Sand and GK, and they kept their eyes on Lion and Drake.

Lion.

Drake.

One person is safe.

One is not.

...
...
...

"Drake...." Peng said slowly,

"congratulations, you have escaped elimination again." Peng said. "Lion... your CPSkool adventure is over." Peng then looked down at his feet.

Her eyes filled with tears and she covered them with her flippers in embarrassment. Mat ran over to her and grabbed her flippers "It's okay Lion..." he said to her.

Peng put the mic up to his beak and said "Lion, you have fought very hard this season, and no matter what the odds were you showed up with nothing less but dedication. You should be extremely proud of yourself, not everyone gets to the merge in a CPSkool season."

Lion was embraced by all 8 of her ex-competitors in a very large group hug. This moment was extremely magical and touching. The contestants this season have built a bond with each other in the last 9 weeks that cannot ever be broken.

Lion gathered her belongings and walked out onto the top deck, past the pool that she will never get to swim in again, and back to the stage. This is the last time she will ever see this stage, the same stage in which 5 of her contestants had been voted off in the past. The chopper landed as always, and she climbed on board. She wiped a tear away and waved good-bye to all of her friends and the chopper flew off into the distance.

The 8 remaining players were visibly upset. Each week that passes, it only gets harder and harder to eliminate.

The sun was setting right on cue, and the ship slowly moved out of the port.

Sadly, we say good-bye to Lion.....

or do we?

Congratulations Lion, you have become the 1st member of the CPSkool Forever Jury! From now on each eliminated contestant will be eliminated and added as a juror.

In the finals, the jury will help decide the final winner of CPSkool Forever! So don't go anywhere Lion!

Any last words to say to our dear friend lion?

S5C6 - Something's Gone Wrong.

(Souvenir Shop will be open from the 23rd to the 27th)

Penguin874 woke up with a blow to the head. The lamp to the right of him landed on his head. He set it back in its place, and arose to figure what had caused the earthquake-resembling vibration. The rumbling got even worse as he struggled to stay on his two flippers. He fell into the wall and pulled the door to his room open.

A few contestants had confused looks on their faces while they awkwardly waddled through the highway. As if there weren't tons of vibrations already, Peng jumped when his cell phone went off.

"Dude, head downstairs," GK asserted. "The ship docked this morning and now all these guys are on the ship looking around. They look like agents."

Peng rushed to the elevator, making sure to dodge the slobber from when Andy face planted into on challenge day. He pushed the first floor button, and awkwardly whistled as he listened to the bland music playing in the background.

With the sound of a "ding" signaling the opening of the elevator doors, Peng rushed out the doors and saw people on the front deck with scared looks on their faces. He walked over to Mat, who seemed to know what was going on.

"It's terrible, Peng," Mat declared, examining the scene. "There was an accident on our website, and now surprising twists of the season have been leaked onto forums. We need to stay at Japan so our associates can have some time to figure out how it would happen. There's theories that someone got into the cargo hold in one of the previous countries!"

"I guess we can just do a simple game with the contestants this week," Peng replied. He pondered the possibilities. "You have some maze books?"

------------------------

Hey, everyone! Hope you enjoyed the story and picture for this post. It's a little strange having a story in the Monday post, but it works. Anyways, as you see from above, this week, we are going to play...

MAZEBAN!

How we are going to play this:
Since everyone knows how to play Mazeban (if you don't, check with your teammates), I guess I should just explain how to win. We will be having a certain amount of rounds based on how many people show up.

As we get to higher rounds, the hour count will rise until we get to the final 2. Whoever gets the lowest number every round will be kicked out of the challenge. When we get to the final 2, whoever gets the lowest time wins.

S5C5 - Poptarts

After waking up to the smell of freshly cooked breakfast, the contestants raced to see who would get a plate first. Even without a challenge in place for them, they were competing. Andre pushed past Lew and Drake but tripped while racing Andy. Wii smirked as he made it into the elevator and pushed the button to shut the doors. Andy ended up face planting into it. "QUICK! DOWN THE STAIRS!"

As for the Girls Dorm, the race was for the bathroom. Spoil put on her makeup as Powder pushed her out of the way to pretty up her hair. Bumble karate kicked Powder away so she could brush her teeth. Hannah was outside the bathroom making a sammich with Lion. Suddenly, they realized they were going to be late, and they all rushed through the door like it was Black Friday.

Downstairs, Peng was standing with Mat at the counter, flipping through a book filled with memories of CPSkool. They knew it would fit for a challenge about the history of their long-running gameshow.

"I can't believe we still have these old things," GK laughed as he pulled a soda out of the kitchen fridge. "You want one, guys?"

Peng and Mat shook their heads as they turned around to see a tired Sand stretch. "What time are we going to dock in Japan?" she asked.

"Around seven...you look like you were about to sleep past that, though. Couldn't sleep?"

"You guys have to sleep near the Boys' dorm, so you have it easy. The Girls spent all night watching Twilight and painting each other's nails. It was terrible..."

Suddenly, all the contestants ran towards the kitchen like a horde of zombies with only breakfast on their minds. "TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF MY POPTARTS!" Spoil screamed as she karate kicked Andy in the face.

"Well, at least they'll be well-fed..." Peng laughed, jumping into the crowd to grab a bagel.

-------------------------------

Welcome to S5C5! This week, we had about 30 minutes to complete the challenge before Andre and Spoil had to go, so we managed to complete it in under that amount of time!

S5C5 - Potato Brains

(Souvenir Shop will be open from the 17th to the 20th)

Congrats to the top 10! S5C4 went by really fast, and now it's time for me to explain the challenge. First of all, we will be calling this challenge "AYSTAP" on the chat to make it easier.

Instructions
After we've settled in on chat, I will ask a contestant in PC a question involving CPSkool's past. The person being asked has 20 seconds to respond, depending on the question. If a question is answered correctly, they will gain 10 points for their team.

  • How to Win
To win, your team needs to get 120 points or your team needs to last longer than the other team. If you look at the tickets chart below, it says that 4 tickets will be given out for winning. This applies to the ENTIRE TEAM. Get your researching on, and be sure to show up. If you don't show up, you're putting your team at a horrible disadvantage.
